Arjan van der Vegt has worked for Liberty Global since 2018, when he came onboard as a member of the Connectivity Team. His focus has been CPE technology, and in particular Wi-Fi. Based on the successes he achieved applying this expertise to improving CPE performance, Arjan was asked to lead Liberty Global’s XGS-PON CPE development effort.
Jan Hruska graduated in Computer Science at Charles University in Prague in 1994. After 8 years in management consulting, he moved to Telefónica O2 Czech Republic. Within his 15 years with Telefónica, and later O2 Czech Republic, Jan went through many positions, mainly Fixed-Mobile convergence program manager, E-shop manager, Director for distribution strategy and sales performance, Fixed services marketing director, to his current role of CTO, covering responsibility for IT, Network, and Product management areas. Jan’s latest focus is FWA, 5G, IPTV platform, IT modernization, and agile at a scale of big organization.
Boris is Chief Strategy Officer at a leading UK fibre infrastructure and broadband service provider – Hyperoptic. Prior to his currently 3 years at Hyperoptic, Boris has spent 7 years as Senior Vice President of McKinsey & Company’s Recovery and Transformation Service focusing on strategy and transformation design and implementation and serving some of the largest Telcos globally, including in senior interim roles. As part of his current role, Boris now focuses extensively on market and investment dynamics in fibre infrastructure, looking at the mid-/long-term fibre value creation in European, and especially UK market.
Clayton’s 25+ years of telecoms experience started with the emerging internet access market in the early nineties. This led to him joining The Cloud in 2001, where he rolled out over 10,000 Wi-Fi hotspots across three countries. Today Clayton leads CityFibre’s strategy team, where he manages rollout planning, shapes long range commercial thinking and helps the business set strategic priorities.
Kjeld Balmer is heading the operation and development of the cable network in Norlys, the 2nd largest service provider and infrastructure owner in Denmark. His primary responsibilities include research and evaluation of technology transformations as it relates to Norlys’ business, strategic and operational objectives. Previously, Kjeld has been holding different management positions in the telco industry in Europe. Kjeld holds a Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and a E-MBA in Technology and Change Management from Aalborg University in Denmark.
Enrique Blanco Nadales, born in Madrid in 1959, studied Physics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Master PDG at IESE. After a period of three years in Standard Eléctrica (a company associated with the multinational ITT) as a Software Designer in System 12, he joined the National Telefónica Company of Spain in 1985 in the Direction of Technology, assuming different responsibilities in the area of Digital Switching.
Xavier Leclercq is Vice President of Business Development at Broadpeak. In his role he drives business development strategy to further consolidate the company’s position as a leading provider of video delivery technologies. Prior to joining Broadpeak, Xavier was a Director of IP video at Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent, where he led teams in consulting and business development for six years. Overall, he has more than 15 years of international experience in the IP video industry, with expertise in consulting and selling technology to content owners and network operators across the globe. Xavier graduated from Institut Mines Telecom Lille-Douai (formerly Telecom Lille) engineering school, and holds a Master’s degree in Business from the University of Lille.
With over a decade of experience in advertising at leading brands, agencies, publishers and tech companies, Tanno has excellent and holistic commercial knowledge across both TV and digital platforms. He leads FreeWheel’s sales teams in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and advises advertisers and agencies alike on their media & video strategies.
Before joining FreeWheel, Tanno held senior sales positions at start up AppNexus. During his tenure, he established the first team in the DACH region spearheading the buy-side business. He continued his role as Sales Director after the company’s acquisition by AT&T and integration into Xandr.
Equipped with a degree in Public Relations from IULM, Milan 1999, Silvia Broggi now works within the media Industry, specialising in TV and advertising. Her career began working with the Mediaset Group in 2000, positioned in the International Sales House Publieurope, in the role of Group Product Manager. Silvia was posted for four years in London from where she managed the operative marketing for branches in London, Paris, Munich, Losanne and Madrid. In 2004 Silvia returned to Milan to enter Publitalia ’80 as International Marketing Manager. The significant international experience in Silvia’s professional development during the 8 years as International Marketing Manager, include orchestrating a collaboration with the Sales house of Nessma, a Maghrebian satellite TV channel (Tunis, Morocco, Algeria) for which she was posted in Tunis for 2 years, and a 6 month placement in Paris 2011 as Sales Manager for Publieurope.In 2012 Silvia returned to Milan for the promotion to Head of International Marketing of Publitalia ’80. Five years later she took on a second and simultaneous role as Marketing Director for the newly born AdTech&Business Development Division. This dual role is where she remains today – in charge of international marketing and marketing technology, where she manages the go to market, sale and development of Publitalia’80 addressable advertising offer.
